Ex-XXL Update 25 June

We welcome two new members to the club - Jonathan M and expatbore. I hope that you all have fine weather for cycling. We are now in the wet season and fortunately for me, we seem to get it either late afternoon or in the middle of the night. I try to get out about 6am and be back before 9, I think that I have only been caught out once! I enlarged my short circuit yesterday by about 6 miles and felt great when I got back.

Ex-XXL Update 11 June

Sorry I am a bit late with the update!
How are you all doing? As for me - well I am still under 300lbs but only just. I have not been able to get out as much as I wanted to. It is now the wet season here with spectacular lightning shows, thunder like you have never heard before and a disrupted TV service! I think in the last week, I have only been able to go out three times. On one occasion, I got the bike out and the heavens opened, put the bike away and it stopped so the bike came out again. The rain started again. bike away and the rain stopped. This macabre dance went on for about 30 minutes, it was a case of 'Sod it, I'll have a cup of tea and read the Bangkok Post!

Ex-XXL Update 29 May 07

Not many people have responded so I have only put the updates on this time. Perhaps, it is something to do with the bank holiday and people are away enjoying themselves.
If you are late, don't worry about it, I'll update this page as the weights come in. As you can see, I've cracked the 300lb mark at long last!

4th June A few more weights did come in and I have updated the table

Ex-XXL Update 15 May 2007

Sorry I am a bit late with the update, the computer's playing up a bit. Most of us have lost weight this time and I have recorded my first ever loss! Well done, pingpong & cafferty - will one of you record the first two stone loss or will it be someone else?
I am a bit disappointed with my loss so I've decided to change tactics - the Tacx has been put away for now and I'm just concentrating on roadwork. two nice 20 mile runs yesterday and today - one on the MTB and one on the road bike. Went to the local bike shop yesterday to get the gears adjusted and to replace the rusty gear cables - two cables, rear mech re-aligned and both mechs adjusted. Guess how much? £10? £20? Not even close - about £1-50. Today the road bike went in for gear adjustment - about 60p! The only maintenance that I do now is cleaning the bike and pumping the tyres up - am I getting lazy?

P.S. RPMK has just pointed out a few errors - it is, of course, May and not April! Your new age (63!!!) has also been changed and so has the table

Ex-XXL Trophy 30th April

Some of our bodies have not grasped the concept yet; we are here to lose weight! Some lose weight and then reach a plateau and some of us, including me, are still on the plateau before we start to descend. Hopefully, we are all feeling fitter - I know that I am.

Congratualtions to mygo, cafferty & pingpong who have all managed to lose over a stone each. There are four more who are not far behind them - well done chaps!

It is now the wet season on Bangkok, I don't mind the rain - once you are wet you can't get any wetter. The problem is that after a long, dry spell is that the roads get awfully greasy!

If anyone is looking for new tops & bib shorts take a look at the Prendas Ciclismo site - http://www.prendas.co.uk/default.asp - tops up to 6XL & shorts up to 4XL in stock. My new outfit has not arrived yet but I'm sure that it will raise a smile when I post a picture of it.

Any suggestions for this blog will be gratefully received.

Keep your pedals spinning and chins up.
